CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST


The University of Naples Federico II, in collaboration with MedITech Competence CenterINNOVATION VILLAGE, the OECD platform "Entrepreneurship Education Collaboration and Engagement Network" (EECOLE) and the Runway Startup Program at the Jacob Technion-Cornell Institute at Cornell Tech, promotes the matchmaking event “Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in Times of Crisis: International Experiences in University-Industry Collaborations”. The initiative aims to encourage the sharing of entrepreneurship training experiences and strengthen collaborations between universities and industry in Italy and North America.

ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEMS IN TIMES OF CRISIS
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES IN UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY COLLABORATIONS

This workshop aims to offer an international meeting and discussion space for innovators, researchers, and faculties revolving around the themes of startups, scale-ups, companies, research centers, European and North American universities and their interactions. Key topics of the three days will be sustainability, entrepreneurship, and Smart Specialization. The aim is to explore opportunities and challenges associated with deep tech, sharing experiences and promising practices to develop collaborations and networks with overseas businesses while discussing with institutions and investors.
Actors involved in technology transformation can join from all production sectors, such as energy, environment, sustainable building and mobility, blue growth, aerospace, biotechnology, health, new materials, logistics, agri-food, fashion, cultural heritage, creative industries, robotics, digital manufacturing, and others.
Applicants will have to provide a brief description of the case or experience they intend to present and their rationale for seeking collaboration with companies and universities at an international level. Objectives:

  • To attract talents to strengthen technological and social skills for entrepreneurship.
  • To promote networking to enhance university-industry collaborations for R&D.
  • To develop matchmaking between Italian companies, researchers, and businesses operating in North America.


Work agenda:
The workshop will unfold along four interactive sessions, beginning on July 20 in the afternoon, and will include presentations of international cases and experiences and round tables for networking. The morning session of July 22 will be devoted to matchmaking.

Participants:
Besides the organizers, participants will include entrepreneurs, decision-makers, researchers, young graduates, and experts in the field of entrepreneurship.

Expected results:

  • Building a network for creating opportunities for university-business and business-to-business collaborations to enhance innovation and R&D for Industry 4.0.
  • Strengthening technological and social skills for entrepreneurship.
